Studio Overview

This project was a ground-up studio build located in the backyard of a newly constructed home, with the house and studio designed and built simultaneously. Zoning and code restrictions limited the footprint to 750 square feet, which needed to accommodate a fully functional control room, live tracking room, amp booth, kitchenette, and full bathroom. Situated just 30 feet from a major four-lane highway, the structure required a robust sound isolation strategy. The design challenge was to create a space that felt and functioned like a large-format LA studio—despite the modest footprint—by maximizing acoustic volume, spatial layout, and aesthetic continuity with the main residence.
